Youth in Transit: Growing Out of Care

The Youth in Transit guide was created by youth members of the SYICCN from all across Saskatchewan. Youth members felt the need to share their experiences and expertise in order to create resources, like this guide, that would help other young people in transitioning from government care. Eight modules were created for youth like you to help you navigate your transition or "exit" from the government care system. 

The following are key areas that young people and alumni of government care identified as key areas of focus and need for any young person preparing to age out of the system:

• Health and Wellbeing
• Housing and Healthy Living
• Money Management and Financial Education
• Employment
• Support and Healthy Relationships
• Parenting
• Youth Justice

 The SYICCN Inc was able to bring this project to completion with funding from the Community Initiatives Fund, the Government of Saskatchewan.
